Daryl Davis is an American R&B and blues musician, author, and renowned race relations expert whose groundbreaking work has bridged some of the most divisive racial and ideological divides in the United States. As a talented pianist, Davis has performed with music legends like Chuck Berry, B.B. King, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Beyond the stage, he is best known for his bold, empathetic outreach to members of hate groups, particularly the Ku Klux Klan, which has led over 200 individuals to renounce their extremist beliefs.
In addition to his personal efforts, Davis is a founding board member of the Prohuman Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting human dignity, dialogue, and deradicalization through education and engagement.
His story is featured in the books The Klan Whisperer and Klan-Destine Relationships, the documentary Accidental Courtesy, and four TED talks. His story continues to serve as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of listening, respect, and courage in the face of hate.
