Prohuman Series

Jill Carey is a Prohuman Foundation Ambassador and the Vice President of Programs for Civic Bridgers, a Minnesota-based nonprofit that trains future leaders to bridge divides in service of a stronger democracy. Before joining Civic Bridgers, Jill was an award-winning social entrepreneur and business leader. She started her career as a teacher and founded Chicago’s first standards-aligned social-emotional learning company, creating pathways for schools to fulfill the Illinois Children's Mental Health Act of 2003. Jill's company served thousands of students across hundreds of schools and continues to grow under new leadership. In 2021, when women's workforce participation dropped to a 34-year low, Jill launched a consulting firm dedicated to retaining and supporting parents in the workforce. She joined Burn-in Mindset to equip top educators to withstand and thrive in a challenging field. Jill holds a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a M.A. in Education from Dominican University. She is a University of Wisconsin-Madison Forward Under 40 honoree. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, three daughters, and a very good dog.
